What are Wainwright's hours?
Our hours are Monday, Friday: 10 AM-5 PM; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 10 AM-6 PM; Saturdays by appointment only.
Can I schedule a Saturday appointment?
Yes, we are available for Saturday appointments, but we often need two weeks notice to do so. Because of this, we often try to accommodate early or late appointments during the week that fit everyone's schedule.
What do I need to bring to a design consultation?
It is helpful to bring a few magazines or general color/design ideas with you when you come in for a design consultation. If you're looking to improve an existing area, it may be helpful to bring in home photos as well. However, if you do not know what style or material you're looking for, we will provide you with information and examples of each option, helping you define what would best fit your space.
What is the difference between ceramic and porcelain tile?
Porcelain tile is a particular type of ceramic tile. 'Ceramic' often refers to a clay tile which is more porous than porcelain tile. For this reason, red-bodied ceramics are not recommended to be used outdoors in our climate. Porcelain is fired at a higher temperature than other ceramics and, in result, is much denser than red-bodied ceramic tiles. Porcelain does not absorb water or stains, even without a glaze, so it is very low maintenance and can be used outdoors.
What is Wainwright's return policy?

- A 10% re-stock fee will be charged for any returned item
- We reserve the right to refuse the return of any material
Can I borrow samples from the showroom?
Yes, you are more than welcome to borrow samples from our showroom for a maximum of three business days.
What type of cleaners can I use on my tile?
There are different cleaners for different types of tiles. The Wainwright staff can help you find the appropriate product for your specific needs.
Who does Wainwright Tile & Stone use for their installations?
We have a small group of independent-contractors that work almost exclusively for us. They have been with us for years, our installers all carry liability insurance and adhere to our strict quality expectations.
Are your installations guaranteed?
Our work is guaranteed to be done in a workmanlike manner and according to the manufacturer's specifications so as to uphold the manufacturer's product guarantee. Wainwright's in house warranty guarantees the work otherwise for three years. Please be advised that Wainwright Tile & Stone only installs tile purchased through its showroom. This is so we can guarantee both product and craftsmanship.
How does the installation process work?
Typically the installation process starts with a trip to the showroom to make tile selections. At this time, we will take your contact information and you will be contacted by one of our installation supervisors to schedule a site visit. After the site visit a proposal will be created based on your specific installation needs. If the proposal is accepted, we require a 33-50% deposit to get the tile ordered. Once the tile arrives, our installation team will review the schedule to secure your start date.
What payment options do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and Discover), personal checks and cash.
Does Wainwright Tile & Stone offer contractor accounts?
Yes, Wainwright offers contractor accounts to approved applicants. Please see a showroom assistant for more details.
What is "Green"?
"Green" is a term that refers to being environmentally friendly. A product's recycled content, the sustainability of its contents, and low transportation impact are all factors that can contribute to a product being termed "green." Wainwright has a number of "green" products in our showroom and will provide you with their specific "green" qualities.
What's the difference between Pre- and Post-Consumer Recycled Material?
A tile's Pre-Consumer recycled content is comprised of industrial waste and scrap materials. This results in much less waste during the production process. Post-Consumer recycled content is what is traditionally thought of as 'recycled material.' This uses material that has already been used by a consumer (such as recycled glass bottles).
